We view each contract as a partnering agreement, building relationships with our clients, engineers, suppliers and bonding agencies to maximize project efficiency and cost control.

Keith James was appointed President of the Carmacks Group in June 2007. Keith provides the leadership necessary to position the company at the forefront of the industry.
Keith has more than 30 years with Carmacks and the Heavy Construction Industry providing him with an indepth understanding of the business. In his previous position as Chief Estimator and Marketing Manager, Keith was responsible for overseeing the project estimating functions for the entire organization providing strategy and direction in each business area while keeping apprised of the economic trends and markets.
Keith has been an active participant in the development of heavy civil construction in Alberta. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association including Chairman of the Board in 2006. Other involvements includes membership in the Richard Ivey Business School Alumni Association and past Committee leader with the Kinsmen Club of Leduc. |

Gordon Pasini has been involved with the Carmacks organization since 1979 when he began as a labourer. Today, he directs and manages all facets of the construction activities for the Carmacks Group. Responsibilities include projects relating to roadbuilding, surfacing, and aggregate supply.
Gord has served as Chairman of Alberta Sand and Gravel Association; Director of Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association; Gold Seal Certified member of the Canadian Construction Association. He is also an active participant in the Canadian Technical Asphalt Association and the National Asphalt Pavement Association, a multinational technical organization based in United States. |

Felix came to the Carmacks Group in 1994. Prior to this he was the driving force behind starting and operating a major Chipseal company in Alberta. He was also manager of Western Bitulithic (highway construction) prior to its absorption into Wells Construction, part of the Warren Group of Companies. He has twenty years of experience in municipal, parking lot, and subdivision construction. His honesty and straight forward approach to meeting client needs is a trademark in the industry, as well as his tireless efforts to get the job done right.
As Manager of Carmacks’ highway maintenance operation from 1995 to 2001, he demonstrated his leadership skills in his association with Alberta Transportation and other maintenance contractors contributing to best practices in the delivery of services to the public.
Today, Felix directs the activities of the Municipal Division. Projects are multi-faceted and located throughout the province of Alberta. |

David Scragg graduated from the University of Alberta in 1980 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree the articled with Price Waterhouse for two years following graduation. He entered the construction industry as Controller for Dahl Construction Ltd. This was an oilfield related construction company, operating out of Whitecourt, Alberta.
Joining the Carmacks' team in July, 1989, Dave assumed responsibility for the financial affairs of the corporation. Contract administration, resource acquisition, insurance and cash flow management all came within his purview.
Today, in addition to his responsibilities for corporate cash flow, Dave directs the activities of Administration and the Industrial Division which involves maintenance work on industrial sites located in Fort McMurray. |

John Zerkee began his career in bridges in 1972 when he joined Alberta Transportation's Bridge Branch. His leadership skills were quickly recognized as he progressed from a labourer to Crew Foreman and later to a Field Superintendent in 1977.
John completed extensive technical training programs while employed with Alberta Transportation and continues to expand upon his experience through his common sense, practical approach to each project undertaken. Upon leaving the Provincial Government, he worked for Alberco for a year just prior to joining Carmacks as Bridge Superintendent in 1997. He was appointed Bridge Division Manager in 2003. John has acquired an excellent team of experienced bridge people to ensure the best quality and workmanship on each project.
Over 30 years in the bridge business has resulted in a sound knowledge base for providing excellent service and products to the customer. |

Gary Brooks was appointed Calgary Operations Manager in January 2005. Prior to joining Carmacks in 1996 as a Highway Maintenance Foreman, Gary started in the highway maintenance business at the “grass roots level” with Alberta Transportation, working as an equipment operator and progressing to Contract Maintenance Foreman. When Carmacks acquired four government highway maintenance contracts in late 1995, he joined the team as a Foreman responsible for a specific contract maintenance area.
Gary was instrumental in the transitioning of the Deerfoot Trail from the City of Calgary to Alberta Transportation to Carmacks as a private contractor. He continues to be a key participant in the Alberta Transportation/Carmacks Enterprises Ltd. partnering team.
Currently, Gary is responsible for the leadership and management of the day to day operations of the Deerfoot Trail Highway Maintenance Contract and the municipal construction operations for Calgary. |

John Zomerman joined Carmacks in 1999 and holds his Red Seal Automotive and Heavy Duty Certificaiton. John has worked his way up through the organizaiton, starting as a mechanic to his current role as Division Manager.
John is responsbile for purchasing all equipment for all divisions of Carmack. He and his team ensure equipment is available and ready for all construction projects so jobs can be completed in a timely manner.
