Penhold and Wainwright
Alberta Transportation Central Regional Bridge Rehabs
Alberta Transportation's Central Rehabilitation Program included the rehabilitation of 2 bridges—one bridge at Penhold and another at Wainwright.
Both sites involved milling of the old decks and pouring a new 75mm overlay on them as well as numerous other repairs. On the Penhold site, the underside of the deck required replacement of stress cables and underslug diaphrams to join the concrete girders together.
Both sites were on major highways with high volumes of traffic. To accommodate the traffic, the project was handled in a staged construction fashion and therefore no problems or delays were experienced. The crews varied from 6 to 20 workers as the project required.
This project was completed on time, within budget and to the client’s complete satisfaction.
