The construction site of the CNRL Horizon plant was set up in 4 stages or areas where work was progressing simultaneously in all areas. The size of the Stage 4 area is about 10 hectares.
Contracted to AC&T Limited which is a partnership company of Athabasca, Chipewyan First Nation and Tercon, Carmacks is responsible for the installation of underground utilities on the Stage 4 site while the stripping and grading was performed by other companies in the partnership. 5700 metres of pipe, pipe sleeves, gabian walls, and electrical duct banks were all part of this work.
