Bridges
When the Alberta Government decided to contract out routine repair and maintenance of bridges in 1996, Carmacks was ready to move in and made bridge activities a core business. Because of the specialized nature of the work requiring specific skills and abilities, Carmacks sought out ex-government employees with the training and experience specific to the business and employed them to provide these services. Services provided include:
- Bridge and culvert construction
- Bridge repair and maintenance
- Bridge deck sealing and concrete overlay
- Strip deck and cap changes
- Guardrail installation and repair
- Bridge structure sandblasting and painting.

The year-round nature of the bridge business has attracted skilled and talented people to the division. Because of the Division’s rapid growth, we are constantly looking for people with experience in carpentry, cement placement, dirt work and project estimators, superintendents and foremen.
